Monifer Carrie, 27, of Beetham Gardens, Port of Spain, has passed away after a targeted shooting that authorities say was deliberate and coordinated. The attack unfolded in seconds—but its impact is lasting.
Police reports indicate that at approximately 12:05 a.m., Carrie was a passenger in a white Nissan Sentra traveling along Malgretoute Road. Without warning, another vehicle emerged, blocking their path. Two armed men stepped out—and opened fire.
Multiple shots were fired into the car.
When the gunmen fled, the scene they left behind was one of devastation. Carrie was found lying on the roadway by a relative who rushed to the area moments later. She was transported to the Princes Town Health Facility, where she was pronounced dead at 12:36 a.m.
